根子ノ沢遺跡出土土器 Wavy Rimmed Pottary

　この縄文土器は、1994年に秋田県由利本荘市の根子ノ沢遺跡から出土したものです。推定製作年代は縄文中期の約4,500年前です。高さ30.5cm、口径30.4cmの大型の土器で、表面の立体的な渦巻き模様と、上部の大きな波状の口縁が特徴的です。このように精緻に装飾された土器が良好な状態で出土するのは非常に珍しいことです。

This is a Jomon pottery excavated in 1994 from the Neko-no-sawa archaeological site in Yurihonjyo City, Akita Prefecture. It is estimated to date back to the Middle Jomon period, around 4,500 years ago. This pottery stands 30.5 cm tall with a 30.4 cm rim diameter. Its surface features intricate spiral designs in relief, and the upper part has a distinctive wavy rim. It is quite rare for such an ornately decorated pottery to be excavated in such a well-preserved condition.
