岩偶 Horinouchi rock figurine

　これは、秋田県湯沢市の堀ノ内遺跡から出土した岩偶（がんぐう）です。長さ6.6㎝、幅4.8㎝の砂質凝灰岩製で、右脚部を欠損しており、頭部後面に紐通し状の孔があります。同時に出土した遺物などから、この岩偶は縄文時代後期後葉のものと考えられています。

This rock figure was excavated from the Horinouchi site in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture.

It is 6.6 cm long and 4.8 cm wide, made of sandy tuff, with the right leg missing and a string-through hole on the back of the head. Based on artifacts excavated at the same time, this rock figure is thought to be from the Late Jomon Period.
